Petra Karlsson

Born in Karlskoga in the year of 1981 and have sense then lived in spread of different places in Sweden, I even did a short appearance in Alexandria as a child.  Now I live in a very small village, Åkers Styckebruk only 65 km from Stockholm.

The dog came into my life through the family's different dogs when I was a little girl. First we had a very stubborn fox terrier, and then it was the big and gentle Karjalankarhukoira (karelianen the bear dog) and finally the mixbreed Laika. Although I to a large extent saw Laika as my dog wasn’t I actually a dog person at this time, then was only horses in my head and dogs you only had to pat on and to give it a cookie or two. The real interest for dog started when I was around 16 and when met Christine and her two German Sheppard. It is because of her and my godfathers Jämthund (a Swedish elkhound) I realized the fun in training dogs. It was also Christine who helped me find my first own dog and in 2001 the German Sheppard Ängsbackens Foxy moved in with me. Together with Foxy I tried a variety of dog sports. When I later on would get dog number two, the choice fell on saluki and 2004 Vega moved home to me. With Vega and now also Nashira train I Lure Coursing, handling and little obedience, but if I will be entirely honest becomes the time for the obedience part have been shrinking,  because the time keep the in gleaming muscular condition and my job take a lot of time.

Through Vega I have become bitten within both dog shows and Lure Coursing.  Apart from mental training off dog I find that training the dog’s body, massage and dog’s physiology is very interesting.
